In 2024, Hong Kong welcomed around 45 million visitors, marking a 31% YoY increase, according to the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB).

The HKTB forecasted that the number of visitors to Hong Kong this year will grow by about 10% YoY to 49 million, with per capita spending rising to around $5,500.

Data from the HKTB indicates that last year's overall per capita visitor spending decreased by 20% YoY to $5,500. Of which, per capita spending by mainland visitors dropped by 23% to $5,000, mainly due to a higher base caused by higher spending by visitors to Hong Kong after the border reopening in early 2023.
