Malaysia: Necessary Action to Be Taken Against Firms Involved in Nvidia Chip Transshipment Case

Malaysian Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Tengku Zafrul Aziz, told CNBC in an interview that the government will take necessary measures against any Malaysian companies implicated in the ongoing Singapore investigation into the transshipment of Nvidia (NVDA.US) chips.

However, he emphasized that there is currently no evidence to suggest that data centers operating in Malaysia are utilizing chips that are not permitted.

The statement follows charges filed by Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Law against three individuals accused of transporting servers containing restricted Nvidia chips from Singapore to Malaysia. Authorities in Singapore indicated that the products may have subsequently been shipped to other countries.
