Market research agency TrendForce forecasted that global new car sales will reach 90.6 million units this year, up 2.4% YoY. Among them, the Chinese market is expected to account for 29%, while the US and Western European markets will account for 18% and 15% respectively.

Because of the immense uncertainty posed by tariffs on the US market, TrendForce estimated competition in China's smart car sector to escalate.
