Alibaba Cloud's Mexico Data Center Commissioned

Alibaba Cloud, a subsidiary of BABA-W (09988.HK)(BABA.US), announced that its data center in Mexico will be officially opened and commissioned in Mexico City on 18 February, local time, making it the first Alibaba Cloud region in Latin America.

It is anticipated to leverage technology as a catalyst for innovation and help Latin American businesses and developers thrive in the digital age by providing world-class cloud infrastructure and digital capabilities.

The data center is expected to provide advanced cloud computing products, as well as a range of core cloud services such as storage and network services to Chinese offshore companies and local customers.

In May 2024, Yuan Qian, president of the International Business Unit of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, announced plans to invest in new data centers in South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Mexico to expand its global infrastructure footprint on a larger scale.
