U.S. President Donald Trump foretold that he may impose tariffs of about 25% on imported cars, chips and drugs, and may announce it as early as April 2.

The new tariffs, if implemented, will broaden the global trade war.

Trump had previously announced that he would impose 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports starting in March.
