The boards of Nissan and Honda will vote today (13th) to officially end merger talks, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. Previously, Nissan planned to exit the negotiations due to growing disagreements between the two parties, and Honda even proposed to make Nissan its subsidiary.

Sources also indicated that Nissan will further reduce its production capacity in China. Regarding the eight plants operated by its joint venture with DONGFENG GROUP (00489.HK) in China, the Changzhou plant has already been suspended with an aim to optimize operations.
