SNE Research: CATL's Global Mkt Share in Vehicle Battery Installations Surges to 37.9%

Korean battery and energy research company SNE Research has released 2024 global data on electric vehicle (EV) battery usage. According to the data, Chinese battery manufacturer CATL (300750.SZ), which is preparing to list in Hong Kong, achieved a global vehicle battery installation volume of 339.3GWh, up 31.7% YoY, and its market share further leaped to 37.9%, up 1.1 ppt from the same period last year, firmly maintaining its position as the global leader for the eighth consecutive year and the world's only battery manufacturer holding a market share of over 30% for four straight years. BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) (002594.SZ) recorded a vehicle battery installation volume of 153.7GWh last year, and its market share grew by 1.3 ppts from last year to 17.2%, ranking second globally. CALB (03931.HK) logged a vehicle battery installation volume of 39.4GWh last year, and its market share dipped by 0.4 ppts from last year to 4.4%.
