BIDU-SW (09888.HK) plans to launch a new generation of its AI model in 2H25, and that “ERNIE Bot 5.0”, which serves as the foundation model, will have strong enhancements in multimodal capabilities, CNBC quoted sources as saying.

Multimodal AI can process texts, videos, images and audio for combination and transformation. Foundation models can understand language, generate text and images and communicates.
