In response to media inquiries, CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK) said it has been informed of the findings of the investigation by the Centre for Health Protection of Department of Health (CHP) into the two suspected food poisoning cases on its flights CX640 from Kathmandu to Hong Kong on 7 and 8 January.

CATHAY PAC AIR confirmed that the salad was not served on any other routes. Except for the two incidents, there have been no recent reports of similar suspected food poisoning symptoms.

However, in view of the possibility that the incidents may be related to the salad, the Group has immediately withdrawn the salad from service following the two incidents.

Additional measures have been taken to strengthen the control of the entire food handling process, enhance staff training on food hygiene and adopt all the recommendations made by the CHP.
