The Bureau of Operation Monitoring and Coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released information about the telecom business in Mainland China during the 2025 Spring Festival, according to a Weibo report from the MIIT. During the 2025 Spring Festival, the mainland telecom industry's network operated stably and safely; telecom services were improved and optimized; domestic mobile data traffic achieved rapid growth; international inbound and outbound roaming business fared well; and AI empowerment became a key direction for innovative services. During the Spring Festival in 2025, basic telecom operators aggressively leveraged AI to develop innovative services, integrating their capabilities in 5G, cloud platforms, big data and other areas, deploying in multiple fields, expanding AI application scenarios and enriching the supply of AI applications. The three Chinese basic telecom operators have all fully integrated DeepSeek's open-source foundation models, enabling it to be used in multiple scenarios and products. They have also provided dedicated computing power solutions and supporting environments for the popular DeepSeek-R1 model, helping to unleash the performance of domestic foundation models.
