WeChat team released its 2025 Spring Festival data report saying that WeChat's blue packet debuted in 2025 Spring Festival. During the Spring Festival, there was a strong demand for “sending gifts” to friends on WeChat, with the top 3 provinces receiving the highest number of gifts being Guangdong, Shandong and Zhejiang.
