Freddie Wong, Chairman of MIDLAND HOLDING (01200.HK), said that the worst time for Hong Kong's economy and property market has passed, and predicted that this year's overall home market turnover could rise to about 70,000 transactions and the decline in property prices would narrow. Primarily influenced by economic development, public confidence in home ownership, and policies introduced in the fiscal budget, the overall performance will be more stable compared to the past few years. Although market turnover waned in December 2024 and January 2025, Wong believed that a slight boom would occur this year, but unlike previous years, it may be delayed until March. He attributed this to the upcoming fiscal budget announcement, which has created a strong wait-and-see atmosphere in the market. AAStocks Financial News |
