The trade war situation continued to affect the foreign exchange market as US President Donald Trump's administration imposed additional 10% tariffs on Chinese imports from Tuesday morning. The USD slipped on Tuesday, while the USD Index last ebbed 0.9% to 108.01.

The US suspended tariffs on Canada and Mexico. The CAD exchange rate continued to rebound, with USD/ CAD sliding 0.7% to 1.432. The MXN fell, with USD/ MXN adding 0.4% to 20.44.
