In order to implement the arrangements of the Chinese central government and Shanghai government on expanding support for the trade-in of old consumer goods, Shanghai issued on January 28 detailed rules for increasing support for subsidies for home appliances, home furnishings and home decoration products in 2025. Shanghai subsidizes seven categories of products, namely home appliances, decoration building materials, sanitary ware, furniture and lighting, smart home, home-friendly products for the elderly, and home textiles. The subsidy amount for each payment channel participating in the activity shall not exceed RMB2,000. For payment channels that participate in both online and offline activities, the online and offline subsidy limits will be calculated separately.
