The Service Industry Survey Center of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) announced the operation of the non-manufacturing industry PMI in mainland China. The non-manufacturing business activity index ebbed back to 50.2 in January, below market expectations of 52.2, down 2 ppts from the previous month, but still above the focal point, suggesting that the non-manufacturing industry stayed in expansion in general. The composite PMI output index for January stood at 50.1, down 2.1 ppts from the previous month, indicating that the overall output of the mainland economy continued to expand.
