MGTO Expects Avg. Daily Visitor Arrivals 185K During CNY, Hotels to Be 'Full' for Few Days

Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, the Secretary of Macau Government Tourism Office, said that, as Chinese New Year (CNY) is approaching, the number of visitors coming to Macau for purchasing CNY goods increased, while the average daily visitor arrivals in the past week was more than 100,000, regarding to Macau's current visitor arrivals, according to Macao Daily News. She believed that there will be a lot of visitors in the CNY, and hoped that the average number of visitors will be up to 185,000 per day. At present, the booking rate of Macau hotels for the CNY holiday is nearly 90%, and it is believed that the occupancy rate can exceed 90%, as well as 95%, which is very optimistic.
