WeChat Said to Strengthen E-commerce Strategy w/ Store Coupons Available During Spring Festival

In order to ramp up its e-commerce strategy, WeChat has been gradually releasing various e-commerce-related features from December 2024 through February 2025, Sina Tech reported, citing sources. By doing so, WeChat intends to lower the entry barriers for merchants, fully complete e-commerce functions, and iterate alliance-driven livestreaming e-commerce models across multiple scenarios.

These features include offering store coupons along with sharing and gifting features tailored for the Spring Festival scenarios.
