Webank Technology Holds Inauguration & Signing Ceremony in HK Tdy

Webank Technology held an inauguration and signing ceremony in Hong Kong today (16th). Speaking at the ceremony, President of WeBank and Chairman of Webank Technology, Li Nanqing, remarked that more than 20 business opportunities have been successfully scouted in the past six months since the establishment of Webank Technology, and tens of millions of US dollars of letters of intent for cooperation have been nailed.

The inauguration of Webank Technology and the official opening of its Hong Kong headquarter office today, as well as the signing of cooperation agreements with five enterprises based in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Hong Kong, marked an important opening in the company's foray into the international market.

Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR, said in his speech that Webank Technology can harness the successful experience and technological advantages of Webank in mainland China to bring new perspectives and create new possibilities for Hong Kong's financial institutions.

Luo Huanghao, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, said in his speech that the cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong joined the two strong forces together, and Hong Kong is one of the first choices for Shenzhen enterprises to go overseas, adding that the authorities encourage Shenzhen enterprises to get started via Hong Kong.

Webank Technology was incorporated in Hong Kong on June 25, 2024, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Webank, which is backed by TENCENT (00700.HK), with a registered capital of US$150 million.
