CN MOC Firmly Opposes Dutch Expansion of Scope of Export Controls on Semiconductors

In response to the announcement by the Netherlands that it will expand the scope of export controls on semiconductor-related items, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) said that China noted the announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands that it will further tighten its export controls on some semiconductor manufacturing equipment and software, and expressed its great concern in this regard to the Dutch government. China is firmly opposed to the recent repeated generalization of the concept of national security and abuse of export control by some countries, which seriously threaten the stability of the global semiconductor industrial supply chain, as the semiconductor industry is highly globalized.
