New users are flocking to Chinese social media app, RedNote, as the US ban restricting the compulsory sale of short-form video platform TikTok will expire on Sunday (19th), according to Reuters.

More than 50,000 Chinese and US users joined a live chat room on RedNote called “TikTok Refugees,” the report added. Chinese users welcomed American users, and exchanged information with them on topics such as food and youth unemployment.

RedNote only has one version of its app, rather than splitting it into overseas and local apps.
