Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized in a call with Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, yesterday (14th) that China and Europe have no fundamental conflict of interest or geopolitical contradictions, and are partners of mutual success. Over the past 50 years, as the international situation has become more severe and complex, China and Europe should uphold the original intent of establishing diplomatic relations, strengthen strategic communication, enhance strategic mutual trust and insist on the positioning of the partnership. Xi believed that China and the EU should expand their openness to each other, consolidate the existing cooperation mechanism and create new growth points for cooperation.
