CN State Council Proposes to Foster Cultural & Tourism Consumption, Widen Scope of Unilateral Visa-free Countries Orderly

The General Office of the State Council in China issued the “Certain Measures on Further Cultivating New Growth Points and Prospering Culture and Tourism Consumption”, which proposed to organize a series of activities to boost consumption through culture and tourism, and to support the strengthening of cooperation among different regions in terms of sending tourists to each other and promoting the resources of each other. The authority will implement the “Hundred Cities and Hundred Regions” Culture and Tourism Consumption Action Plan and other consumer benefits and concessions, and encourage the introduction of culture and tourism consumption vouchers and consumption discounts, as well as other preferential and regionally integrated consumption and benefit measures. The measures proposed to encourage localities to appropriately relax the restriction on the number of tickets that can be sold for large-scale commercial performances; encourage the creation of diversified and differentiated low-altitude flight tourism products; increase the number of mass tourism trains and silver-haired tourism trains; introduce ice and snow tourism and cold and summer resorts and other special tourism products; develop fashionable and trendy products; and create “trendy brands” and “trendy products” of national products. The measures also propounded to widen the scope of unilateral visa-free countries in an orderly manner; appropriately extend the visa-free period; and launch the “Hello China” national tourism image promotion activities, as well as optimize the departure tax rebate service. Meanwhile, financial support will be beefed up to support local governments to coordinate and mobilize funds from various channels to launch cultural and tourism consumption promotion activities.
