Anti-corruption in CN Financial Sector Continues; CN Banks Reportedly Become Investigated Targets

The anti-corruption movement in the financial sector in mainland China continues, as at least 97 people were investigated in the sector in 2024, which is the same as in 2023, according to the Chinese media The Paper.

State-run banks were one of the key targets of investigation in 2024, with a total of 36 people being investigated, among which CCB (00939.HK) had the most personnel (10 people) being investigated; ICBC (01398.HK), BANK OF CHINA (03988.HK) and ABC (01288.HK) each had 7 people investigated; and BANKCOMM (03328.HK) and PSBC (01658.HK) had 2 and 3 people investigated respectively, report revealed.
