TENCENT, CATL Clarify They Are Not Defense Industry Firms; Inclusion on US DOD List Is Mistake & Misconception

The US Department of Defense (DOD) announced that enterprises such as TENCENT (00700.HK), CATL (300750.SZ), ChangXin Memory Technologies, QUECTEL WIRELESS(603236.SH) and AUTEL TECHNOLOGY(688208.SH) were added to the "Section 1260H list", a list of companies that collaborate with the Chinese military.

Its inclusion in the list is clearly a mistake, and emphasizing that TENCENT is not a defense industry enterprise or military supplier, and that it will work with the relevant US authorities to resolve the misunderstanding, TENCENT issued a statement saying.

CATL also responded that the matter was a mistake, clarifying that the company is not involved in any military-related activities.
