SUNAC (01918.HK) informed some of its USD creditors that it may not be able to repay its debt before the September maturity date, as weak sales may trigger a new round of offshore debt restructuring, Reuters quoted sources as saying.

SUNAC is studying alternatives for September maturity notes, and has yet to provide specific details to its creditors, the sources added.

SUNAC is not sure yet whether it will extend the bonds due in September 2025 or consider revamping all its offshore debt in a second round of debt restructuring, which could involve a steep haircuts and more equity swap, according to sources.
