CN Releases Guidelines for National Data Infra Construction, Advances 6G Network Tech R&D Innovation

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and other government units released the “Guidelines for National Data Infrastructure Construction”. It mentioned that two to three years' time will be utilized in 2024-2026 to carry out pilot tests on data infrastructure technology routes around important industry domains and typical application scenarios, and to support early and pilot tests in some localities, industries and fields, so as to enrich the supply of solutions.

China will develop standards and specifications for unified directory identification, unified identity registration and unified interface requirements to consolidate the technical foundation for data infrastructure interconnection. It will also complete the top-level design of national data infrastructure construction and clarify the technical route and practical path for national data infrastructure construction.

The Guidelines also mentioned promoting the optimization and upgrading of traditional network facilities, orderly promoting the upgrading and evolution of 5G network to 5G-A, and comprehensively advancing the research, development and innovation of 6G network technology.
