JD-SW Founder Richard Liu Sends Gifts to 1,400+ Households in Hometown: Report

JD-SW (09618.HK) (JD.US) founder Richard Liu has again given Lunar New Year gifts to more than 1,400 households in his hometown this year, with the value of gift amounting to a few thousand for each household, and RMB10,000 in cash for each senior citizen over 60 years old, Chinese media reported, quoting the villagers in Liu’s hometown of Guangming Village, Suqian, Jiangsu Province. As early as 2015, news broke that Liu had given RMB10,000 in cash to a total of 650 elderly people over 60 years old in Guangming Village during the Lunar New Year that year; and in February 2017, he had even announced that he would donate more than RMB100 million to Suqian for public welfare causes such as education, culture, elderly care and poverty alleviation in the area.
