Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the National Committee of CPPCC's New Year tea party, saying that China has successfully achieved its main economic and social development goals despite challenges from domestic and international situations over the past year. Seeing that the economy has remained generally stable with progress, Xi anticipated that China's annual GDP growth to be around 5%.

As 2025 marks the conclusion of the "14th Five-Year Plan", Xi emphasized the need to maintain the general principle of seeking progress while ensuring stability.
