Hospital Authority Reportedly Exploring Possibility of Using Drones to Deliver Supplies & Drugs

Hospital Authority (HA) is exploring the feasibility of using drones to deliver hospital supplies and medicines, for example, whether Tseung Kwan O Hospital can deliver medicines to Po Toi O, which is about 10 km away, by means of drones, multiple local media reported. However, the authorities accentuated that they are only exploring the issue for the time being. At the moment, HA is providing drug delivery service through S.F.. In reply to media enquiries, HA indicated that it will fully support the policy direction of the Hong Kong Government in promoting the development of low altitude economy, while communicating closely with different government units and stakeholders to explore the application of low altitude economy in healthcare services, including the feasibility of the use of UAVs for the delivery of supplies.
