LENOVO GROUP's Yuanqing Yang Expects Non-Computer Biz to Account for 50%+ Soon

LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) Chairman Yuanqing Yang said in an interview that the company, having driven a diversification strategy over the past decade, is no longer solely relying on the computer business. Seeing that the growth of new businesses has outpaced that of the computer business, he was confident that the share of non-computer business will soon exceed 50%.

In terms of shipment volume in the mainland market, Yang noted that AI computers accounted for 14% of the company's computer business this quarter, compared to just 5% last quarter, with the share expected to approach 80% by 2027. As for the performance of other businesses in 2Q, smartphone business revenue grew by 43% YoY, Solutions and Services Group (SSG) revenue soared nearly 13% YoY to RMB15.5 billion, and Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) revenue rocketed by 65% YoY to RMB23.7 billion.
