Taobao, a subsidiary of BABA-W (09988.HK), announced that it had lowered the order value threshold for free overseas shipping in Singapore and Malaysia from RMB199 to RMB99. It will also provide a subsidy for users to upgrade their shipping method from free sea freight to air freight, which is expected to starkly shorten the delivery time of goods. Since August 2024, Taobao has launched the free shipping services for purchases of certain amounts in 10 markets around the world, and the applicable product categories have been stretched from apparel to all industries.
