The Macau government estimated next year's gross gaming revenue (GGR) to reach MOP240 billion, but acknowledged it as a conservative estimate, according to the Macao Daily News.

A Macau scholar viewed this estimate as reasonable, and that next year's GGR may range from MOP240 billion to MOP250 billion under comprehensive circumstances, while Macau can still boost visitor numbers and drive up GGR with its hardware facilities and entertainment activities.

Although the Macau government's estimate of MOP240 billion for next year's GGR is relatively conservative, Davis Fong, Director of the University of Macau's Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming, said that future GGR will still be linked to the number of visitors, and so next year's GGR will fall between MOP240-250 billion.

Fong specifically mentioned that Macau's future path is to develop non-gaming elements, such as hosting concerts to boost visitor numbers and GGR.
