Nvidia Jensen Huang: HK AI Development World-class; Political Environment Not to Impede AI Development

Nvidia (NVDA.US) CEO Jensen Huang was awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), according to media reports.

Delivering his speech at the degree conferment ceremony, he said that the era of AI and robotics has officially unfolded, and that companies around the world are wrestling to adopt AI to accelerate innovation and improve productivity.

He believed that changes in the political environment will not impact global scientific cooperation, and that it will not be possible to impede the development of open science and AI.

AI is setting off a scientific revolution, and soon every company will have AI working with various teams, from marketing, sales, supply chain, chip design, to software development, he envisioned.

Having been developing in China for more than 25 years, Nvidia has design centers in Pudong, Shenzhen, Beijing and Hong Kong. He praised HKUST as the “Asian version of MIT” for cultivating many technological talents.
