In order to further facilitate personnel exchanges between China and other countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian announced that China decided to expand the scope of visa-free countries, and implement the visa-free policy on a trial basis for holders of ordinary passports in Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia and Japan from Saturday (30th) until December 31, 2025.

China also decided to further optimize the visa-free policy by including exchange visits as a reason for visa-free entry and extending the visa-free stay period from the current 15 days to 30 days.
