Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to discuss a deal on ceasefire in Ukraine with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, but will not make any major territorial concessions and is insisting that Ukraine should give up its seat at NATO, Reuters reported, citing people with the knowledge of the matter.

Previously, the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs issued a statement that the U.S. Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine will be closed due to intelligence reports of a possible major air strike, and instructed embassy staff to shelter in place and advised U.S. citizens to be ready to evacuate at any time if air strike sirens are sounded.

However, people familiar with the matter said that Biden administration's recent permission for Ukraine to fire U.S. ATACMS missiles at Russia could complicate the peace talks; if a ceasefire agreement is not reached, Russia will continue to fight.
