CLP, HKELECTRIC Said to Hike Net Tariffs by ~1% YoY Each for 2025

The Panel on Environmental Affairs of Legislative Council (LegCo) held a meeting today (19th) to discuss the annual tariff reviews with the two power companies. Local media reported that CLP Power and HKELECTRIC-SS (02638.HK) are set to announce this afternoon the rates of tariff adjustments for 2025, with net tariff increases of about 1% YoY respectively.

Based on the five-year development plans announced by the two companies last year, CLP forecast the basic tariff for 2025 to be hiked to 100.3 cents, with a fuel cost of 43.7 cents, giving an average net tariff of 144 cents per kWh, representing an increase of about 0.8% from the beginning of 2024.

On the other hand, HKELECTRIC-SS forecast that the basic tariff for 2025 will be increased to 124.2 cents, with a fuel cost of 42.5 cents, giving an average net tariff of 166.7 cents per kWh, representing an increase of about 0.7% from the beginning of 2024.
