Stanley Druckenmiller Buys US Regional Banking ETF in Last Q, Clears Positions in NVIDIA, Shrinks Stock in Microsoft

Stanley Druckenmiller, the renowned investor and former lead portfolio manager for George Soros‘ Quantum Fund, disclosed the shareholdings of his Duquesne Family Office as of 3Q24 showing that he bought the US regional banks ETF, chip stock Broadcom (AVGO.US) and biopharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma (ASND.US), etc..

Of which, Druckenmiller bought 2.05 million shares of SPDR S&P Regional Banking ETF (KRE.US), with a total value of US$116 million, and shares of Broadcom and Ascendis Pharma worth about US$40 million each.

He also increased his stocks in Natera (NTRA.US)/ Philip Morris International Inc (PM.US) to US$453 million/ US$138 million, respectively.

In 3Q24, Druckenmiller cleared his positions in NVIDIA (NVDA.US) and Option Care Health (OPCH.US), involving 210,000 and 1.87 million shares each. His shares in Microsoft (MSFT.US) and Vistra Corp (VST.US) were significantly reduced during the quarter, accounting for 89% and 85% of his holdings, respectively.
