CHINA MOBILE Reportedly Mulls to Acquire Stakes from HKBN's Major Shareholders at $5/ Shr Min.

CHINA MOBILE (00941.HK) is studying the acquisition of HKBN (01310.HK) in order to broaden its business in Hong Kong, currently in talks with MBK Partners and TPG, HKBN's substantial shareholders, Bloomberg cited people with the knowledge of the matter.

Having conducted due diligence on the acquisition, CHINA MOBILE is willing to acquire the holdings from MBK and TPG at a price of at least $5 per share, valuing HKBN at more than $6.5 billion, report said.

However, MBK and TPG may insist on a higher valuation, while other potential buyers such as private equity firms are also interested in HKBN.
