The Hong Kong Observatory announced that in the past few hours, Toraji moved west-northwest steadily. According to the present forecast track, the strong winds associated with Toraji will maintain quite some distance from the Pearl River Estuary tonight (12th) to tomorrow morning (13th). The Standby Signal, No. 1 will remain in force until at least tomorrow noon.

The Observatory also stated that as Toraji edges closer to the coast of southern China gradually, local winds will strengthen gradually later tomorrow. The outer rainbands of Toraji will also affect the coastal areas. The Observatory will consider issuing the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 tomorrow afternoon. It is expected that Toraji will skirt around 200 kilometres to the south of the territory on Thursday morning (14th).
