Canalys: 3Q Global Tablet Shipments Grow 11% YoY

The global tablet shipments grew 11% YoY to 37.4 million units in the third quarter, Canalys said in a report. Fueled by recovering demand in both consumer and commercial sectors, the tablet market expanded for the third quarter. During the quarter, Apple (AAPL.US) continued to maintain its leading position in the tablet market, with a market share of 36% and shipments of 13.6 million units, a YoY rise of 0.3%. Chinese technology powerhouses LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) and Huawei were among the top five. Lenovo shot up 14% YoY, while Xiaomi was the fastest growing vendor with a 58% increase. Huawei shipped 2.9 million units, achieving a 29% growth. AAStocks Financial News |
