Maros Sefcovic, nominated as the next EU Trade Commissioner, stated during a European Parliament nomination hearing that the agreement between China and the EU on the minimum prices for imported electric vehicles (EVs) must have the same effect and enforceability as the EU's additional tariffs.

Even with a price floor measure, he emphasized that its impact must be equivalent to import tariffs and enforceable, which is critically important for the EU.
