The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) fined GlobalFoundries (GFS.US), the world's third-largest foundry, US$500,000 for making 74 unauthorized deliveries of wafers worth US$17.1 million to SMIC (00981.HK)'s SJ Semiconductor.
