China will broaden the scope of visa-free countries, Lin Jian, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced at a regular press conference. Effective Friday (8th), a visa-free policy will be enforced on a trial basis for holders of ordinary passports from nine countries: Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein and South Korea.

The trial visa-free policy for holders of ordinary passports from these nine countries is primed to facilitating the flow of people between China and other countries, promoting cultural exchanges and economic cooperation.

From Friday to the end of 2025, ordinary passport holders from these nine countries can enter China visa-free for purposes of business, tourism and visiting relatives and friends, and transit for no more than 15 days, Lin added.
