Geely Holding Group issued a statement saying that the Geely Group (including but not limited to its Volvo, smart and other brands) has always proceeded with negotiations under the guidance of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME). Geely submitted all proposals to the CCCME for the record, and has never negotiated with the European Commission privately.

From late September to mid-October, Geely Group participated in the entire process of the negotiations between the CCCME and the European Commission in Brussels on industry proposals. During the negotiations, the European Commission took the initiative to contact Geely's brands, but Geely, looking at the bigger picture, refused to communicate with the European Commission alone.

In response to the distorted and slanderous reports that have appeared on the internet, Geely will resolutely take legal measures if they do not cease, and hold the relevant institutions and personnel legally accountable according to the law, in order to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests and good image.
