BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)'s electric vehicle (EV) "BYD ATTO 3" has been rated as a "Not Recommended" model by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), HK01 reported, citing the latest assessment results released by Euro NCAP. Euro NCAP explained that the rating was given primarily based on the poor performance of the "BYD ATTO 3" intelligent driving control system. In addition to its system's inability to correctly interpret traffic signs, it also received only a moderate score in terms of assistance capabilities. More importantly, the "BYD ATTO 3" failed to meet the minimum standards in safety support, particularly in the performance of the cruise control system in front of stationary vehicles, and it did not take action when the driver did not respond, Euro NCAP further stated.
