TSMC (TSM.US) Reportedly Informs US DOC of Chip Used in Huawei Product

TSMC (TSM.US) has informed the US Department of Commerce (DOC) about one of its chips being found in a Huawei product, Reuters, citing sources, reported. The report quoted one source saying that tech research firm TechInsights previously dismantled Huawei's Ascend AI-910B platform and disclosed the findings to TSMC before publishing the report, and that TSMC reported to the US DOC two weeks ago. Another source mentioned that the TSMC chip was only confirmed within one multi-chip module. TSMC stated that it has proactively contacted the US DOC regarding the matter, and it has not supplied chips to Huawei since mid-September 2020.
