The General Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province issued the Notice of the Action Plan for Accelerating the Innovative Development of the Optical Chip Industry in Guangdong Province (2024-2030). The Notice stated that the government is striving to achieve more than 10 key breakthroughs in core technologies in the field of optical chips by 2030, create more than 10 strongly competitive products, cultivate more than 10 world-class leading enterprises with international competitiveness, build about 10 national and provincial innovation platforms, foster the formation of new RMB100 billion-level industrial clusters, and build an innovation highland for the optical chip industry with global influence. The Plan also mentioned the need to vigorously promote the research and development and domestic substitution of key optical chip equipment such as etching machines, bonding machines, epitaxial growth equipment, and optical vector parameter network testers, so as to implement policies to upgrade industrial equipment and accelerate the upgrading of key optical chip equipment.
