<Econ>US Aug Net TIC Inflow US$79.2B; CN's Holdings of US Treasury Securities Fall US$1.9B

Data from the US Treasury Department showed that the net Treasury International Capital (TIC) inflow in August came in at US$79.2 billion, compared to US$159.1 billion a month earlier. Of which, the net long-term TIC inflow was US$111.4 billion, less than July's net inflow of US$137.9 billion. Regarding foreign holdings of US Treasury securities, Japan held US$1.1292 trillion, an increase of US$13.5 billion, making it the largest holder of US Treasury securities.
