Intel (INTC.US) and AMD (AMD.US) announced the establishment of an advisory group to ensure that software can run normally on their chips, reinvigorating the x86 computer architecture to address the challenge from Arm (ARM.US), foreign media reported. After Arm's rise, Intel and AMD's market share has been eroded, and Arm has licensed its architecture to Apple (AAPL.US), Qualcomm (QCOM.US), Amazon (AMZN.US), Microsoft (MSFT.US), Alphabet (GOOGL.US), etc. Under the contract, all Arm chips must be able to run all Arm software.
