CN Sep CPI Climbs 0.4% YoY

In September 2024, China’s CPI rose 0.4% YoY, the National Bureau of Statistics announced. Among which, urban areas hiked 0.4%; rural areas inched up 0.6%; food prices advanced 3.3%; non-food prices sank 0.2%; consumer goods prices added 0.5%; and service prices lifted 0.2%. In 9M24, China’s CPI grew 0.3% on average over the same period of the previous year.

On an MoM basis, China’s CPI was flat in September. Among which, urban areas fell 0.1%; rural areas grew 0.1%; food prices gained 0.8%; non-food prices dipped 0.2%; consumer goods prices edged up 0.2%; and service prices dropped 0.3%.
